Game 2 the Brewers traveled to Prior Lake and sent Scott Hollingsworth to the mound. Scott was not on top of his game but did manage to battle through some stuff. The Brewers scored first with a run in the 4th only to be answered by the Jays with 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th. The Jays would tack on another run in 5th for a 3-1 lead. Once again the Brewers for the second night in a row scored a run in the 7th to make it a 3-2 game. Heading into the 9th the locals still down a run got a leadoff walk followed by a sac bunt and a single to right that was thrown away at 2nd base allowing the tying run to score. Into the 11th inning Tyler Oakes got the huge 2-out run scoring single and then shut the door on the mound earning the victory. Final Score.....Brewers 4 Prior Lake 3 (11 innings) The locals welcomed the Class "B" runner-up from last year, the Prior Lake Jays to the "Mini Met" for the start of a big 3-game series. The Brewers sent Justin Thompson to the mound. The Brewers got off to poor start as the Jats scored 2 runs in the first inning and built a 5-0 lead going into the 7th inning. The Brewers then pushed across 2 runs before a very bizarre play that plated 2 more runs to cut the score to 5-4. Going into the bottom of the 9th Brewers still down 1 run got a leadoff HBP. Then a walk, sac bunt, and wild pitch tied the score. Then Steven Beckman's 1-out sac fly scored his brother Alex with a close play at the plate to complete the comeback for the Brewers. Final Score.....Brewers 6 Prior Lake 5 The Brewers welcomed the defending Class "B" State Champions to the "Mini Met" in a game the Brewers were looking to climb into the section race with a victory. The Brewers jumped up early with 2 runs in the 2nd inning and another run in the 3rd inning for a 3-0 lead. It stayed that way until the 5th when the Indians pushed across 2 runs against starter Trent Bohnsack. The locals answered with a run in the bottom of the 5th for a 4-2 lead. The game would take a drastic change for the worse in the 7th. A 2-out 2-run double tied the score followed by a 2-run homerun put the Indians on top for good. This was a tough loss but the locals will look to rebound with 6 of the next 7 games agaisnt section opponents. Offensive star for the Brewers was Aaron Langsweirdt who was 2 for 3 with an RBI and SB with a run scored. Final Score.....Brewers 4 Shakopee 6 Up Next for the Brewers: Sun.
