2009 Jordan Brewers Update Welcome to the all-new Jordan Brewers Baseball website. Continue to check back frequently to see updated stats, schedules and photos of Brewers Baseball. Last week the Brewers took to the field against the Gaylord Islander and Steven Beckman got his first start on the mound and was very effective. Steven went 6 2/3 innings scattering 11 hits, while striking out 5 Islanders. Jason Chalupsky came on and threw 2 1/3 innings earn the save. The offense was provided by Adam Hoffman, Jeremy Heitkamp, Aaron Langsweirdt, and newcomer Tyler Dabu with 2 hits a piece. Final score: Brewers 4 Gaylord 1 The Brewers headed to Victoria for a section (non-section) game against the Vic's. Trent Bohnsack got the start and threw well. The Brewers got on the board first with a run in the 4th, only to have the Vic's put up 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th. The Vic's pushed a run across in the 6th for a 3-1 lead. The locals got 1 back in the top of the 7th but that was all the scoring. Trent pitched 7 innings allowing 9 hits,2 earned runs, while striking out 8. The offense was provided by Adam Frey who was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Jeremy Negen drove in the other Brewer run. Final score: Brewers 2 Victoria 3 The Brewers headed to New Prague to participate in the annual New Prague Tournament looking to avenge there runner-up finish from a year ago. The locals were matched against long-time friends and foes the St. Benedict Saints. The Saints jumped on starter Nick Dolan for a run in the top of the 1st. The Brewers pushed a single run across in the 2nd and 4th to take the lead. Then in the bottom of the 5th Jeremy Negen hit a 2 run double to seal the deal. Nick Dolan threw a complete game striking out 5 Saints allowing only the 1 earned run. The hitting attack was lead by Jeremy Negen and former Saint Aaron Langsweirdt each with 2 hits. Final score: Brewers 4 St. Benedict 1 Game 2 the Brewers were matched with the Cleveland Condors. The Brewers handed the ball to newcomer T.J. Oakes and he didn't disappoint. T.J. acting like he has done it before threw a no-hitter. He was pretty much masteful on the hill. Comments from the dugout could be heard, "Now that is a no-hitter!" The Brewers would like to welcome a true classact to the team in T.J. Oakes. T.J. struck out 12 Condors. The offense was lead not by a skeleton crew, oh wait Hoffman, Bahn, Simek, Frey, and Dolan weren't there. The hitting was lead by Scott Hollingsworth who was 2 for 3 and Jeremy Heitkamp with a big 2 run double. Final score: Brewers 2 Cleveland 0 It was a rematch of last years Championship game as the Jordan Brewers faced the Morrhead Brewers for the 2nd year in a row. Alex Beckman once again got the start for the Brewers for the 2nd year in a row with revenge on his mind. The Brewers started fast with a double by Scott Hollingsworth, that plated Adam Kalal. Kalal was courtesy running for Trent Simek. The Moorhead Brewers scratched across a unearned run in the bottom of the 1st. Then a single run in the 3rd and 4th put the Moorhead Brewers up to stay as the locals fell to Moorhead for the 2nd year in a row in the title game. Alex Beckman pitched a complete game striking out 4, whiling allowing 5 hits. The offense was scarce as Scott Hollingsworth was 2 for 2 with an RBI.
